Colossians 3:1-4
Brothers and sisters:
If you were raised with Christ, seek what is above,
where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.
Think of what is above, not of what is on earth.
For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
When Christ your life appears,
then you too will appear with him in glory.
We wake up in the morning, feed the crew, get the kids off to school, drive to work, grind, grind grind, come home and do it all again… It’s easy to get caught up in the day to day, because the day to day is tangible and so very demanding. But I assure you, it gets old real fast if you aren’t remembering the truth of our reality.
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. We were made for MORE than this. It’s so vital that, while keeping up with our responsibilities on earth, we also keep our eyes on what is above. If a person is drowning, it won’t help them to look down at the waters that engulf them. They must look up and keep their strength focused on freedom. Christ is our sky. He is the hope that keeps us from succumbing to the darkest waves. Never stop seeking what is above.
