"Now he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath, and there was a woman who had had a spirit of infirmity for 18 years. She was bent over and could not fully straighten herself, and when Jesus saw her, he called her and said to her, 'Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.' And he laid his hands upon her, and immediately she was made straight, and she praised God."

Luke 13:10-13

Many people walk around every day with different types of illnesses, whether it's mental or physical, or maybe even there are relationships in our lives that are toxic or just that there's a lot of pain involved. No matter what amount of time we have gone with a certain illness or experiencing pain or having a challenging relationship, no matter how long that has lasted, years maybe, even when we feel like all hope is lost, Jesus, the ultimate healer, the God of the universe, has the one, true power to heal our brokenness, to heal our illnesses, to heal our relationships.

No matter what in your life you're relating to this gospel story with this woman that had this infirmity, allow Jesus into that space. Allow Jesus to be the healer for you. Never lose hope in the power and the freedom that he offers us. Trust in his power. Trust in his goodness. Trust in his love for you. Let's pray.

Thank you, Lord, for today. Thank you for how good you are to us. Lord, even if there are things in our lives that we have felt abandoned in, illnesses or challenging circumstances, Lord, we know that you have not abandoned us. We offer those things up to you, and we pray for you to bring healing. We pray all of this in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
