"Heal the sick and say to them the kingdom of God has come near to you."
Luke 10:9

Wow, okay, Jesus is telling us that we should tell other people that when we are around them and when we have impacted their lives, that the kingdom of God is now near them. Is that really people's experience of being us? Do people spend time with us and think, wow that felt a lot like the kingdom of God. Or if we were to tell them, hey by the way, that time we just spent together. That was time with the kingdom of God, would they be like what are you talking about? You are nothing like the kingdom of God.

I think we need to be very honest ourselves. Are we living up to Jesus's call to be those emissaries for the kingdom? When people spend time with us, they should encounter God in us, and whatever we are doing that falls short of that is just not good enough. So today, lets go out of our way, lets make an extra effort to be the kingdom of God for people, to help people experience God when they are with us.

Thank you Lord so much for this day and please we ask you Lord, be in our hearts. We know you are always offering yourself to us but we sometimes push you away or we invite you into our heart and we want people to see you through us. We pray all of this in the name of the father, son and the holy spirit. Amen.
